I am so sad that Staples has changed their teacher limit policy. Last year, I was able to get many supplies at 1 cent each and used the majority of those supplies during the school year! Teachers spend so much of their own money on supplies! STAPLES, if you read this -- please reconsider your policy!! The NEW POLICY, as it was explained to me, is that teachers can buy 2 items at the discounted 1 cent price and they can buy 23 more at the regular retail price. They will then get the difference refunded in the form of Staples rewards (which can be spent at the store). This definitely changes my shopping for this year. This week the Rose Art crayons and glue were 1 cent each. I only bought the minimum. It will have to be something I really need for me to pay the extra money up front. How about you? Will you still buy with this new policy? Staples is the main office store that I use. It was too difficult for me to keep up with 3 office stores-- rewards policies, discount cards, submitting refunds by mail or online. So, I try to stick to one store. I appreciate that Staples is thinking about the teachers, but I hope that they will change this limit policy!
On another note, Staples has their Teacher Appreciation Day coming to a "store near you"! Here is the link to find out the date of your store event: Staples - Teacher Appreciation. I haven't been to one of these yet - maybe this year!
